work blog

Here's a little blurb I wrote a few weeks ago for work... enjoy!

Haha, I LOVE this story. My best drinking/bathroom story was while in Istanbul in the winter. As your work blog stated; tea, pepsi, coffee, tea, tea, tea. And then the inevitable... so I had to pay a US $1 to be given a bucket, to walk 1/2 a block, to fill the bucket with water, to return to the potty, to manage a winter coat and packages, to pee in a hole in the ground while squatting and managing a winter coat and purse and bags, to pour the bucket of water down the hole to flush. "What would you like to drink?" "Nothing, thank you."

Eeek, I've been falling behind on reading blogs (like everyone else it seems lately!), but I did get a chance to hop over and read this. I love getting to learn a little more cultural sensitivity through your travels. You seem so adept at navigating your way all over the world. What a sweet (literally), funny story! And Happy Girl, I love that you added your own story! Thinking of you, Kati, as you're making another transition!

I guess hospitality comes in as many different flavors as there are languages. You poor thing! I do so heart what you do – and how you do it – and how you write – all full of grace – and truth. God bless you Kati!
